About Winchester Speedway

Winchester Speedway

Winchester Speedway has been a staple in the community since 1957, and continues its heritage as one of Tennessee’s finest racing venues for Saturday night stock car racing each and every Saturday night. Originally built as a horse racing track on the Winchester Tn. Fairgrounds in the early 50’s, the track was later transformed to race stock cars in 1957. Winchester Speedway’s wealth of racing history goes back 57 years, and keeps on giving racers and fans a place to gather for dirt track racing at its best.

The quarter mile dirt track which is located just off the square in Winchester, Tn. now owned by Jimmy and Sharon Nowlin of Shelbyville, Tn. since 2010. Jimmy Nowlin, an accomplished racer and previous track promoter, saw an opportunity to revive Winchester Speedway back to life and bring back the glory days of racing in Winchester. Fast forward to 2014, the Nowlin’s have accomplished that goal by giving fans and racers a place to carry on the Winchester Speedway legacy.

Racers and fans flock to Winchester Speedway in late February for its annual Winterfest event and on Saturday nights from late March through October to see some of the South’s best dirt track drivers take to the track and compete. Exciting racing, side-by-side action and thrilling finishes as racers do battle amongst each other at high speeds. Let it be the elite Super Late Models, the 2 Barrel Late Models, Modified Stocks, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks or Vintage Dwarfs, race fans get their need for speed and racers leave with bragging rights. Winchester Speedway offers a selection of racing like no other and continues its mark to bring dirt track racing at its best.
